I chose to become a natural childbirth instructor
because I want to help other couples achieve a safe,
satisfying, and empowering birth! I strongly believe that
active participation in the birth process by both mother
and partner leads to a more satisfying birth experience.
I became certified through the Bradley Method of
Natural Childbirth 6 1/2 years ago after the birth of my
second son. I have since taught over 150 couples using
this method. I had three very different, but amazing
natural births using the techniques I teach in my
classes. My first was born at the hospital with an OB,
my second was born at a freestanding birth center with
nurse midwives and my third was born at home in a
birthing tub with a midwife. I feel that having these
three experiences has helped me to have a wide
knowledge of the choices that birthing women have in
our area!
As a childbirth educator, one of my main goals is to help
you develop a positive attitude towards the labor and
birth process so that you, too, can truly enjoy the birth
of your baby. It’s hard work learning, preparing, and
birthing, but it's also the most important and amazing
work you will ever do!
I currently live in Riva with my husband Chris and my
three sons: Keaton 9, Griffin 7 and Landon 3 1/2. I have
been teaching Bradley classes since 1999 and I am also
a certified doula (birth assistant) with Doulas of North
America (DONA).
